Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychological assessment and intervention, with a focus on supporting the mental health and educational needs of students. This role involves working collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals to promote a positive learning environment and address the diverse needs of students.
Duties
- Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations for students to identify learning, behavioral, and emotional challenges.
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties.
- Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Engage in crisis management interventions to support students in acute distress or emergencies.
- Offer consultation services to educators regarding classroom management strategies and behavioral health concerns.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to assess student needs and develop appropriate interventions.
- Provide training and resources for staff on mental health awareness, crisis intervention, and effective communication strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, and progress monitoring in compliance with school policies.
Requirements
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in psychological testing methods and interpretation of results.
- Knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and implementation processes.
- Strong skills in individual and group counseling techniques.
- Experience in crisis management and behavioral health interventions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with social work principles as they relate to educational settings is a plus.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in all interactions.
