Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with diverse learning needs in a supportive and inclusive environment. This role requires a strong commitment to fostering the academic, social, and emotional growth of students while implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each child's unique requirements.

Required:

  • CO SPED License - Must have applied
  • 6 months Special Education Exp

Duties

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that accommodate the diverse learning styles of students.
  • Assess student progress through standardized testing and ongoing evaluations to ensure educational goals are being met.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and support staff to create a cohesive educational experience for each student.
  • Utilize learning technology and adaptive tools to enhance instruction and engagement.
  • Provide instruction in literacy education, physical education, and other subjects as needed.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and communication.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior, providing feedback to parents and guardians regularly.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education.

Skills

  • Experience working with students in a private school setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in lesson planning that meets the needs of diverse learners.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Familiarity with literacy education strategies for students with varying abilities.
  • Ability to integrate learning technology into the classroom effectively.
  • Experience in physical education or adaptive physical activities is a plus.
  • A compassionate approach towards teaching children with special needs, ensuring their dignity and respect at all times.
